CUTS AND FABRICS: PART 30

Everything was going according to how she'd expected, she had been watching Titi from a distance and she spotted her uneasy reaction when she saw her designs on the runway. Miss Gold had to let out a high pitched laugh, more like a shriek that got everyone around her wondering what the joke was. A distraught and overly disconcerted Titi looked panicked, that's exactly how she wanted it to be. Nothing is going to stop her from clinching the award, the other contenders don't stand a chance.
Miss Gold has always had a problem with trusting people which is why she finds it easy breaking terms of agreement. She saw the shock in Mary when her models went on the runway and apparently she was not part of them. "Silly girl, she can never be a model, never" Gold said with a crooked smile. She felt no sign of remorse. She was satisfied with what she'd accomplished and was only waiting for the embarrassing moment when Titi would come out to say she had no designs…

Jenny Chisom Celebrates President Goodluck Jonathan

I caught myself writing this about Nigeria's outgoing President, and after sharing on my Facebook wall, I thought to share it here too. This man is the face of a new Nigeria. Don't get annoyed because I keep saying "I love Nigeria". Read my thoughts below...
My hero!
My honourable outgoing President who delivered free, fair and peaceful electoral process as he promised.
A man who fought corruption using technology and saved us some heartache especially in this election.
A bridge-president that incubated Nigeria as we marked 50 years of independence and also 100 years of nationhood.

Abuja News: Linus Okorie Addresses Nigeria as a New Administration Dawns

Great People of Nigeria! We are in a new dawn as a nation. A time when a new government is about to take over the task of building the Nigeria of our dreams. The turn-out and success of the 2015 elections is one that has clearly distinguished our economy and people as a democracy on the rise and we are proud of this. The labour of our heroes past and present shall indeed not be in vain.
It is more so heart-warming to know that efforts of the Guardians of the Nations International (GOTNI) for 21 years since her inception which is geared towards consciously grooming and building the capacities of young Nigerians to become transformational leaders is taken a rewarding step. I am glad to be alive at this time in our nation’s history to experience this robust youthful participation in an election that clearly shows that power belongs to the people of Nigeria – her youth in particular.

Abuja Lawyers Lauds Nigeria's Elections and the Security

By John Chuks Azu
Lawyers in Abuja have lauded the conduct of the March 28 general elections in the country by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies. Speaking with Daily Trust yesterday president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Austin Alegeh (SAN) said the election is a sign that Nigeria could become a better country. He also gave a pass mark to the security agencies, saying they have performed satisfactorily. "For us they have all worked very well but nobody is perfect. For example the security agencies arrived at venues before INEC. In all we are satisfied that the elections are basically free and fair. "No doubt there have been incidents of violence, and card reader failure was a major challenge. But INEC rose up to the challenge and took steps to address the issues. We believe what have been done could have been done better, but it is better than what it used to be," he said. Also speaking, Chris Uche (SAN) described th…
