Youth Tourism Connect Awards National Essay Competition Winners

The grand finale and award of prizes of the 2016/2017 edition of Youth Tourism Connect National Essay Competition, a project and initiative of Desigo Tourism Development and Facility Management Company Limited has held on Friday October 6th 2017 at the Nanet Suites in Abuja.

The project which is designed to engage for tourism development,  the attention, ideas, talents, intelligence, creativity, innovation and energy of youths across Nigeria between the ages of 11- 18 for junior category and 19-35 for senior category commenced in October 2016 with a flagship national essay competition and it has successfully produced  through the marking and collation of a panel of external examiners ,  Ogbaga Sunday Thomas from Ebonyi state for the 1st place (Senior category)
who won N500,000 and a smart device, Temitope Steve Arowosafe from Osun state for the 2nd place  (Senior category) who won N200,000 and a smart device, Bello Sarafadeen Mayowa from Kwara  state for the 3rd place (Senior category) who won 100,000 and a smart device and Rhandy Iko-abasi Ken-Iyang from Akwa – Ibom  state for the 1st place (Junior category) who won 200,000 and a smart device respectively amongst hundreds of entries received nationwide.

The winners were flown into the Federal Capital territory by Overland Airways and lodged at the Nanet Suites for a 3 - day camping period which commenced on Wednesday 4th of October and ended on Saturday the 7th of October during which they were hosted by the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation NTDC Tour Nigeria Team on a tour of attractions in Abuja.

The keynote addresses at the grand finale were delivered by the director general of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation NTDC, Mr. Folorunsho Coker  and his speech addressed the USE OF ICTs TO PROMOTE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND THE INCLUSION OF THE YOUTH  and Dr. Linus Okorie , president of GOTNI whose speech targeted HOW TO BECOME A THOUGHT LEADER IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY AND GETTING SET FOR THE GLOBAL STAGE. The  special  guests at the event included the national president of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria FTAN , Alhaji Rabo Saleh, The national president of Institute of Tourism Professionals ITP and the 2nd national Vice- president of Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria FTAN, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo , Deputy Director Domestic Tourism Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Mrs. Patricia Narai, Vice president FTAN FCT, Alhaji Badaki Aliyu.

The partners and sponsors of the event include Punch Newspaper, Overland Airways, Nanet Suites etc.

Quite some fuss has been on about this man in picture MnomboMadyibi who was allegedly hit with a bottle of wine and also suffered attempted suffocation using a red and white teddy bear. But as expected it did not get as much attention like if the switch was fixed (the experience being that of the woman).
We must know that if men keep being treated like non humans, even the violence against women we usually fight for, will only increase astronomically, since after all a woman must live and find her fulfilled being married to a man or at least living and being in relationships with them.
